Horizontal lines in my photos. Nothing on lense: the photo looks fine on the LCD until I look at the history. When I put them on the computer to view-the lines are still there. I have a bran new Kodak Z series easy share camera (2 weeks) has not been dropped or water damaged: all of a sudden the lines appeared (with in one photo- and maybe one minute between the two) I must have set something wrong but the web site had nothing> I took the battery out (didn't work either). A long, but unusefull

The symptoms you are describing are indicative of failure of the camera's CCD image sensor. In other words, the camera is defective. This is something you cannot fix yourself. As the camera is only 2 weeks old, you really don't need to be contacti ... Digital Cameras

When I turn my camera on I only see a dark blue and black image with white lines running through it--could I have damaged something or have I messed up my settings? I can look at previous pictures taken, they look fine, I just can't figure out why I can't see anything through the view finder or LCD monitor in order to take new pics. i have been reading through the manual, tried new batteries (regular AA)--any suggestions?

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, ... Canon PowerShot S1 IS Digital Camera

Blue photos Can anyone tell me some reasons why some outdoor shots I took of snow/trees, etc. might look blueish? I took some pictures at sundown that came out fine, and ones I took about 10 minutes later look blue. I don't recall changing any settings. I also took similar shots at the same time with another digital camera and those looked fine. Is this something that's common in low light with a lot of white background? (Or is this a "user problem?")

Snow pictures tend to be blue due to the blue spectrum being scattered and reflected from the snow (similar to why the sky is blue). Plus just after sunset, you're going to get a cooler color temperature (blue cast).\015\012\015\012However, instead o ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 Digital Camera

Canon S400 When I turn the camera on I get blurry lines and colors. When I review previous photographs they look fine. The camera has worked fine for 4 years, and is very well cared for and kept in a case at all times. This was a big investment for me, and I am very discouraged.

I received a Canon PowerShot SD870IS Digital ELPH as a present for Christmas. Unfortunately, my apartment caught fire three weeks ago. My Camera was in its case. the case is burnt on the outside and the camera looked dirty on the outside. It seems to be working but I am just worried that there might be some more damage in the inside. Shall I send it to Canon for an overhaul? What do you suggest? I cleaned the outside but I am still not sure. Please help!

BROKEN LCD Today, I had my camera in my camera bag. Somehow, the screen got busted. I took out my camera to take a picture and the entire full screen view is cracked. The camera turned on and off just fine; it seems that only the screen was damaged. No images are shown when I attempt to look at the pictures I took and when I try to take a picture, I cannot see anything on the screen. Is the screen repairable or is it best to purchase a new digital camera?

Missing photos Hi, IF photos were there and are not showing up, is there a way to look at the camera's internal memory in case they are still there? How do I switch between the camera internal memory and the memory card to find my missing photos? I took my first 6 photos. Went home, loaded the software on my laptop. All working fine. Before connecting the camera I successfully viewed the photos on the LCD and pushed a few camera buttons (not the trash can!) and could not find the photos. Is ther

While at the beach, someone threw a frizbee at my wife and she dropped the camera in the sand. We were careful as we could be picking it up to avoid entrance of sand into the camera. It worked fine until the next day and the lens opened and stuck. I opened the case to remove and sand that entered the camera. While removing the flash it went off and now the camera doesn't even turn on. I assume something touched and blew a fuse. Is this fixable and if so where do I start?

Hi there, i recently purchased a polaroid 600 camera from ebay and some 600 film. However, when I try to shoot, I just get blank pictures coming out (completely brown - alomst negative-type look). I'm not sure if I have loaded the film incorrectly, or if i am pressing the wrong button (there is a large green and smaller black on on the side of the camera - i have been pressing the green one), or if there is something wrong with either the camera or the film. Any advice appreciated

More than likely, the camera is ok. It sounds like the film is either expired, or the previous owner did not store the film properly, therefore it cannot be exposed properly. If you bought it off of ebay, you do not know how the previous owner took c ... Polaroid Digital Cameras

Aloha, My Lumix DMC-TZ3 is having issues. When I turn it on it is extremely dark. It's almost as if the camera is only registering one side of the color spectrum. Even the pictures that are taken come out dark, so I'm guessing it's a lens problem. Not sure how it happened, because the camera was not dropped or treated badly anytime recently. The day before it started going wonky, the pictures and camera were fine. Could this be a lens issue or something internal. Is there a reset button to resto

I turned on my cam to see the camera making everything look distorted on the screen and distorted when I actually take a picture. Hey I have a problem with my fujifilm finepix jv100 camera. I purchased a Nikon Cool Pix Camera in December 2009. In April, I was unable to take pictures for some unexplained reason. I took the camera into Best Buy to have the Geek Squad look at it. They told me it was a problem that needed to be addressed by Nikon. They said that it was obviously not a case of damage or abuse. Long story short, I sent the camera back to Nikon in May with a letter, receipt and warranty. I need to ask why, 6 months later, I still have heard absolutely nothing from yo

My Canon PowerShot S400 shows a blurred image on my screen, one that looks like streaks of light. As I pan the camera the streaks move, too. Sometimes, but not consistently, when I take a photo there are streaks on the resultant image, often greenish blue. Here's something else: When I turn the camera on, the lens opens with a series of small clicks, such as might happen if the lenses have been damaged in some way.

It is definitely a CCD issue. First of all how long have you owned the camera? I am guessing it is out of warranty so in most cases it is the best option to purchase a replacement as you will be able to get one twice as good for about as much as the ... Digital Cameras

Whenever the camera is shaken slightly harder than gently, the camera will not turn on unless a fresh battery is put in (fresh as in green in the charger), in which case it works fine until it is shaken again. Good Day. I dropped my Nikon Coolpix L16 camera onto a table. Since then when i switch the device on the lens goes out about a quarter and the goes back in and i get a lens error message. I noticed that when the lens goes out it bends to the right(looking from the top) and gets stuck by something. When i pull the lens a little to the left while switching it on everything works fine. A very small metal part came out of the camera. Any ideas? is it repairable?

My daughters friend dropped her Olympus FE-340 camera when it was on. It must have fallen on the opened and extended lens because it looks like it has jammed the outer lens ring off to one side. Is something like this fixable?

You can try to pull the lens back into its socket, and it might work again for a while. Usually when the lens barrel is forced of track, something is broken in the process. Plan on installing a new lens. ... Digital Cameras

Broken screen I have had the Olympus FE 190 since May 2007.  At the moment, the screen is broken.  It appears to have some physical damage, but since I bought a protective case, I can't think of how it would happen.  when the camera is off, you can see a large darker spot on the screen.  when turned on, the top half of the screen is white, with the large black spot running through.  there also seems to be a lighter thin line in the spot.  the bottom half of the screen is fine and ready to take a

My Sony Alpha 200 digital camera takes lovely pictures, but as I am a beginner and don't really know much about apertures and shutter speeds and how complex they are, I'm having great difficulty in getting it to focus properly in the manual setting. I have altered the diopter for my eyes as I wear glasses, so that isn't the problem. Is there something I'm either doing wrong, or
