Having problems with your Panasonic Lumix DMCFP1 Digital Camera ?

A classic one... so it seems, but I could not find an answer here or elsewhere. My Lumix DMC-FP1 normally can be turned on by either opening the lens cover or by pushing the 'ON' button. It does not any longer recognize the fact that the lens cover IS open. When pushing ON it comes back with message "Please open lense cover", even with cover open. Yes the thing did fall ... I have downloaded service/repair manual but there are no hints on how to fix. Can it be fixed? That is the question.

Answers :

You will need to read the section which says lens dissassembly. If the lens is not extending when the error message appears, then it is likely that something is preventing it from extending. My money would be on lens gears, which are either dislodged or broken.
